Australia is the host for this edition of the men’s world cup which will commence on 16 October, 2022 and the final will be played on 13 November, 2022 at MCG in Melbourne. Present Champion of T20 WC is Australia.

It has been confirmed that Alex Hales will take Jonny Bairstow’s spot at this year’s World Cup
Because of Jason Roy's poor performance and Jonny Bairstow's recent leg injury, the English opener is expected to make a comeback to the T20I team. Before failing a recreational drug test in the build-up to the 2019 ODI World Cup, Hales was an essential component of the white-ball setup. Eoin Morgan described the incident as an entire ‘breach of trust’ and Hales was fired from the England setup. However, the 33-year-old continued to demonstrate his talent in T20 competitions all over the globe. He will now also be part of the team flying to Pakistan for IT20 encounter and the three-match series against the tournament hosts.

First WC call-ups for Allen and Bracewell
The 15-person New
Zealand team for the 2022 T20 world cup was named on Tuesday, and it includes Finn
Allen and Michael Bracewell. Adam Milne and Lockie Ferguson, also find a place
in the side while Devon Conway has been designated as the first choice
wicketkeeper in the side. Due to his ongoing back injury recovery, all-rounder
Kyle Jamieson missed the cut, Todd Astle and Tim Seifert failed to make into
the team. The side will face Pakistan and Bangladesh in a tri-series at home,
starting October 7 before the WC.

In the most recent Asia Cup, Virat Kohli scored his maiden T20I century
at the top of the order, reigniting the discussion over India's starting lineup
for the upcoming T20 World Cup. The captain of India stated that the team was
certain that Kohli will be the "third opener". The return of Jasprit
Bumrah and Harshal Patel will also help to strengthen the Indian squad however, Jadeja will be a major setback as he is not
available due to injury. Axar Patel has been selected as his like-wise
replacement. Additionally, the Indian team's standbys for the T20 World Cup
include Deepak Chahar, Mohammed Shami, Shreyas Iyer and Ravi Bishnoi.

Singapore born Tim David gets maiden WC call up
Australia announced their T20 World Cup squad on September 1. The defending champions only made one change to their successful squad, swapping out leg spinner Mitchell Swepson for power house Tim David. Cummins is also all set after his long break.

West Indies announce their squad for T20 WC
In the West Indies team for the T20 World Cup, Evin Lewis is
back. Due to fitness-related issues, he hasn't been able to play since last
year's T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates. Yannic Cariah and Raymon
Reifer, two uncapped players, are also in the squad. But there isn't a spot for
the veteran T20 players Andre Russell and Sunil Narine.
