INDIA VS PAKISTAN | ASIA CUP 2022

Asia Cup 2022 is set to begin on August 27 and a lot of cricket enthusiasts are looking forward to the clash of the Asian champions. India against Pakistan contest is among the most talked about games during the tournament.

Both India as well as Pakistan are part of Group A for the Asia Cup 2022. A third qualifier team is expected to be added to the group in the near future. In the other Group B, the teams are Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh. In the first and opening game of the tournament, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan will face off against each other.

NOTE : Hong Kong is the qualifier team which has been added to Group A with India and Pakistan. 


The match between India and Pakistan match will be played on the 28th of August (Sunday). The venue will be the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in UAE. The game will start at 7:30 PM IST (6 PM the local time). Both Asian rivals will try to take on each other in the game. The last time both teams played each other, was during the T20 World Cup 2021 last year, where Pakistan defeated India by 10 wickets.

Both teams have revealed their teams for the competition. Rohit Sharma is going to take the role of captain for India during the tournament. Pakistan will be lead by Babar Azam. In addition, India will be without their vital pacer Jasprit Bumrah. Pakistan will also have to replace the pacer Shaheen Afridi at the event due to his injury and Mohammad Hasnain is all set to take over his place.

Unfortunately, the head coach of India, Rahul Dravid has been tested positive for Covid-19 and he will not travel to the UAE. VVS Laxman is the temporary coach of the Indian team for the championship as Rahul Dravid is under the supervision of BCCI Medical team.
